METRO GROUP in dialogue with its stakeholders Contents

Image: Metro Cash & Carry employees talking with customersAs a retail company, METRO GROUP comes into contact with millions of people worldwide as a part of their daily lives. Direct contact with customers, employees and investors requires a special kind of corporate responsibility. The more the company knows about the expectations of its many stakeholders, the better it is able to meet this responsibility.

The following steps and projects are examples of how METRO GROUP fosters dialogue with its stakeholders, thereby laying the foundation for long-term, trusting ties.

METRO GROUP surveyed stakeholders concerning sustainability communications

In 2008, METRO GROUP asked some executives, analysts for sustainable financial investments, and CSR experts, what their expectations and priorities are for sustainability at METRO GROUP.

The purpose of the first wave of the survey in March 2008 was to obtain suggestions regarding the upcoming 2007 Sustainability Report's format and content. The second wave of the online survey was carried out two months after the report was published in September 2008. This was intended to indicate how well the expectations of the stakeholders were met.
